For this shot, I filmed atop a high balcony panning across
the landscape of my school. To film this I waited for the clouds to go right
over the sun to change the mood to more dark and gloomy. In this shot, I was
trying to achieve a very cinematic introduction of my school's landscape,
conveying the setting and mood of the film.
2. Close Up Shot
This next shot is a close-up shot, used to show small details and add emotion to the scene. I decided to use a close shot for this scene so I can really get the viewers watching to understand the mood of the film and how each character reacts to different events or situations.
3. Point Of View Shot
The shot shown above is a point-of-view shot (POV shot) which gives the audience a view of what the the character sees. I used a point-of-view shot for this scene to how the two characters interact with one another.
4. Over the Shoulder Shot
In this particular shot, I captured an over-the-shoulder shot of the main character looking out into the landscape. This may convey the message that the main character is reflecting or having time for him/herself.
5. Low angle shot
This was a low angle shot taken outside of the main character. The purpose of this shot was to make the main character appear bigger/taller than everyone else in the environment. This effect conveys the message that the main character is above or more powerful than the other characters in the film.
