Venom: The Last Dance: Mise en Scene Analysis

Mise en Scene of Venom: The Last Dance

In this scene, where Venom and Eddie Brock are being chased my 'Xenophage', Mise en Scene is used to convey the enviorment and tension created. To start, the setting is in a desert or arid landscape, contributing to the sense of isolation and danger. The image composition is framed in a medium shot, focusing on the creature's head and upper body. In addition, the creature takes up most of the frame, emphasizing it's size and terrifying presence. The odd shape of it's legs and rocky terrain create a sense of tention and movement within this scene. Now for lighting, the lighting here is pretty genereic, with the sun casting contrasting shadows onto to creation and the landscape. This simulates the sense of realism and reinforces the harsh conditions of the enviorment. The color palette is obviously earth tones with lots of brown, gray, and some soft yellow. This color palette further emphasizes the isolation and setting of the scene. Last but not least, the Xenophage's design is one of the key elements of the mise en scene. It's deformed appearance, with multiple limbs, sharp teeth, and menacing eyes, creates a sense of fear and unease. This design suggest a combination of insect and reptile adding to it's alien look and dengerous nature. Overall, the mise en scene in this scene effectively creates a sense of tension and dange. The combination of the setting, composition, lighting, and creature's design all contirbute to the atmosphere of the scene.

In this next scene, mise en scene is used to show a sense of action and danger. The scene takes place in the sky around sunset. The airplane in the background with the clouds around it, show this scene probably has alot of movement and action. The composition within this scene is extremly important as a full-shot is used to show Venom's full body and his anticipation to jump off the airplane. This emphasizes the aggression and scale of danger. Additionally, the lighting in the scene also contributed to the danger and action, as a strong contrast bnetween light and shadows is created. The sunlight highlights Venom's figure and creates a sense of intensity. In contrast, the darker background also emphasizes the Venom making him the focal point of the image. The color palette, is mainly dark with black, grey, and red accents. While the color does contribute to the menacing look it doesn't contribute as much as the lighting does. In all, the mise en scene in this scene effectively creates a sense of action, danger, and power. The composition, lighting, and Venom's deisgn all contribute to the atmosphere of the scene.

Lastly, elements of mise en scene are used to coney a joyous mood and disco atmosphere. To begin with, the scene appears to take place in a fancy, well-lit area. The lighting has a spot light on Venom with disco lights surronding them. This lighting contributes to the excitment and fun within this scene. Additionly, the actors seem to be dancing to music which expains the disco lights surronding them. Overall, the use of lighting and composition to create an energetic and chaotic tone is nicely depicted.

This next scene is moments before Venom is in his full form about to jump off the airplane. Mise en Scene is used to convey a dangerous and torturous enviorment. The scene takes place in a in the sky (again) however, the lighting is much dimmer and the colors contrast more. The sunlight showing in the background colliding with the dark blue sky futher tells us that this scene takes place during sunset, contributing to the mood and danger occuring in this scene. The actor is meant to look as if he's hanging off the plane with a distressed look on his face. His dark, shadowy figure dominates the frame, drawing the viewers attention. In addition, the framing is focused on Eddie/Venom strapped tightly to the frame further emphaiszing the movement and energy of this sceme. In all, the elements of mise en scene in this scene creates more action and risk.

Mise en Scene is applied all throughout this scene. Firstly, the costume of Eddie is very casual but worn down. The dirty worn down flip flops, shirt, and cargo pants show how much the characters have been through up until this point. The location takes place which looks to be a Western-inpirted location with a small stable and open landscape. Props are also used to convey the rural, untamed enviorment. You can see props such as saddles, bridles, and farming tools, further enhancing the rural setting. The lighting is bright and sunny, creating a sense of warmth and energy. The sunlight highlights the details of the house's form and dust being kicked up to draw the audience's attention. Altogether, this the mise en scene in this scene is used to draw attention and increase action.
