My Classmate's Blogpost!
Commenting on Classmates' Shots
Hi Bloggers!
Today I will be going over my favorite shots/angles taken by my fellow classmates.
To start, the first classmate I decided to review was Edison Chen. In Chen's blog post, my two personal favorites were their Dolly Shot and Establishing Shot. In the dolly shot, it felt as if I was chasing two subjects in real-time. I feel the correct emotion was conveyed to the audience when watching as the subjects were running away the camera was following them giving the film a sense of excitement and action. Furthermore, this shot shows the relationship of both characters as they run away together showing they are friends or partners in some way. In addition, I also liked Chen's establishing shot as it told a lot, establishing the mood and tone of the film. Starting with the weather, cloudy and rainy, gives a gloomy and dark effect to the mood of the story. Moreover, the buildings varying in monotone colors also contribute to the dark and gloomy effect. In all, Edison Chen's shots and angles we're very accurate and conveyed the correct mood to the audience.
Both of my fellow students did amazing jobs filming and recording their shots!!!
