Costume Design!!*

Hello all! In this blog post, I’ll be sharing how my group is handling costuming for our project. Let’s begin by talking about the main character, Jasmine.

First we have Jonathan. For his character, we leaned into a classic jock style while sticking to a similar color scheme to Jasmine’s. To tie everything together, we went with a white shirt (to complement Jasmine), black jeans, a red-and-white varsity jacket, and red Dunks. We kept his hair in its natural style since his character is more defined by his personality and how others perceive him.

Next for Jasmine, we wanted her style to feel soft and casual, highlighting her feminine side. To achieve this, we worked with a lighter color palette, focusing on white and pink. After discussing ideas with Jasmine and exploring inspiration on Pinterest, we finalized her look: a white tube top, ripped light-wash dad jeans, white sandals, and a white bow. Her hair was styled in a low half-up, half-down look, and we kept her makeup minimal with just mascara and lip gloss.
