Other Characters
Hi, readers!
Today, we’ll be talking about my group’s film’s supporting character! In this film, the supporting character is the main character’s boyfriend, who also happens to be the antagonist—he ends up killing her at the end of the opener.
For his character, we wanted to play into the stereotype of a jock or popular kid. He’s cocky, athletic, and focused on two main things: football and maintaining his social status. However, underneath that facade lies something much darker—he’s the town’s new psycho killer, obsessed with targeting teenage girls. In our opener, this is just the beginning of his killing spree. By the time he’s introduced, the murders are only rumors circulating the school, so no one takes them seriously just yet.
To hint at the dangerous side of his character, we incorporated the color red heavily into his costume, which symbolizes danger and his hidden intentions. His props include a knife, which serves as his weapon, and his car, which he uses to “pick up” his girlfriend.
Since this is only the opener, we intentionally didn’t dive too deeply into his character just yet. The goal is to intrigue the viewer and draw them into his motives and actions as the story unfolds.
Thanks for reading, and I’m excited to share more insights about our film soon!
