Editing: In Depth (PT. 3!!!) (review)
Final Day of Editing..?
Today marked the FINAL day of editing, where we brought everything together and completed all post-production. One of the biggest tasks was color grading and making sure the lighting and tones matched across the entire film to maintain that cohesive look that was mentioned before. I also added the audio, which will be discussed in the next blog post. In the end, we had to make a really tough call, and we ended up scrapping the twist I came up with. The concept was there, however, while editing our shots didn't align so we ended up using our backup shots. The final cut ended up being shorter than we expected, since we weren't entirely sure how much time we had to spare so we tried keeping it as tight as possible.
Additionally, the editing for today wasn't too hard since I had already done most of it in the previous days. We added transitions that were mostly fade-to-black at the beginning and end. Moreover, I was more confident in this editing session since the clips felt more cohesive and flowed better. We prioritized ensuring their pace was set rather than stretching it out unnecessarily.
